Web developers Code Galaxy have designed and developed a new website for Blackpool based charity, Hug in a Bag to promote its work and events. Hug stands for help, understanding and glamour.
The aim of the charity is to give a hug to anyone diagnosed with breast cancer within the Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde area. The hug comes in the form of a bag containing gifts and information leaflets. Contents of the bag include luxurious toiletries, stationery, a pashmina, cushion, a candle and a travel bag.
Code Galaxy were asked to design a bespoke website to help increase awareness of the charity’s work and its events such as the upcoming Hug in a Bag Ball on 9th July. The new Hug in a Bag events page can be found here: https://www.huginabagblackpool.co.uk/events .
Using the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) platform, Code Galaxy created a website that is easy to navigate with clear information about the charity and the support it offers breast cancer patients. With fundraising and support pages, the website gives the charity increased accessibility and a professional platform to promote its work.
Director of Code Galaxy, Mary Speakman, said: “It’s been a pleasure to offer our services to such a worthwhile local charity. The improved platform will extend the charity’s reach and promote the excellent support it provides for people diagnosed with breast cancer in the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde areas. We love what the charity does. Providing comfort and luxurious products at a difficult time is a unique way of providing support and care, and we’re proud to have been involved in this project.”
Co-Chairs Debby and Jacqueline said: “Mary and Nicky from Code Galaxy have been invaluable in setting up our new website. They both understood the charity’s ethos and mission from the start. We love the website and hope that this will enable us to spread the word that everyone diagnosed with breast cancer, both women and men are entitled to this gift, they just need to get in touch. Code Galaxy has provided the charity with wide ranging support, and we look forward to a happy and successful relationship with them.”
